Commercial Data Analyst

We are recruiting for a Commercial Data Analyst to support the growth of SIRO’s wholesale consumer services on our network footprint. This role sits within the SIRO Finance Team and provides an exciting opportunity to be part of one of Ireland’s leading telcos; you will participate in projects that make a real difference to thousands of Irish broadband users.

The Commercial Data Analyst will support SIRO’s business functions in analysing data across broadband rollout, sales take-up, churn and customer movement, and sales commercial performance across regions and towns over time. You will work as part of the Finance team to provide analysis, under the guidance of our Senior Commercial Finance Manager.

The Commercial Data Analyst will also have responsibility for SIRO’s existing main financial business model, both actualising for current performance and running sensitivity analysis for business planning scenarios required for internal decision making, risk assessment and responding to shareholder and lender requests for information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing analysis and data to support decision making.
  • Updating SIRO financial business model, sensitivity analysis and scenario modelling.
  • Generating regular reports for management presentations.
  • Analysing and modelling historic sales performance to gain a deeper understanding of the trends in take-up & potential ways to improve sales performance.
  • Review, interpret, and analyse consumer and operational data.
  • Supporting product and process aspects for SIRO’s services.
  • Convert insights into actionable commercial plans.
  • Work independently, with the ability to process data quickly and efficiently using Microsoft Excel and other tools available.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, and other teams to define requirements and present results.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong data & analytical skills, ideally including some work that you can share or discuss in detail (e.g. a college project or equivalent).
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • General understanding of statistical analysis.
  • Enquiring mind with the ability to recognise trends and challenge the status quo.
  • Attention to detail combined with creative thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good reporting and editing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of the Irish telecoms market and industry would be advantageous but not essential.

Education Qualifications

  • A relevant 3rd level degree that incorporates a significant data analysis aspect, or equivalent experience.

Telecommunications and Data Networks Technician Apprentice

Reporting to our Town Completion Manager, within the Infrastructure department this apprenticeship is a great opportunity to start or develop your career within an exciting and dynamic company in the Telecoms industry. Apprenticeship training provides alternating on-the-job training in conjunction with off-the-job training.

The position is a two-year fixed term full time apprenticeship contract, including the off-the-job release to attend the off-the-job sessions at TU Dublin to complete a Higher Certificate in Engineering in Telecommunications and Data Network Engineering. Over the lifetime of the apprenticeship a total of eight blocks, each of two weeks duration, will be spent attending class and practical laboratories at TU Dublin.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold a Leaving Certificate with a minimum of Grade O6/H7 or better in 5 subjects in the Leaving Certificate including English or Irish and Mathematics. A Pass in Foundation Level Irish (F3) is acceptable for this course.
  • Alternatively, an applicant can hold a level of qualification which is deemed equivalent to the requirements in the Leaving Certificate.
  • Full Irish driving licence
  • Applicant must complete a colour vision test
