Quality Administrator

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update technical reports and documentation to high level of presentation.

Telecommunications & Data Networks Apprenticeship

Reporting to our Town Completion Manager, within the Infrastructure department this apprenticeship is a great opportunity to start or develop your career within an exciting and dynamic company within the Telecoms industry. Apprenticeship training provides alternating on-the-job training in conjunction with off-the-job training in Education and Training Boards and selected higher education institutions.

The position is a two-year contract fixed full time contract, including the off-the-job release to attend the off-the-job sessions at TU Dublin to complete a Higher Certificate in Engineering in Telecommunications and Data Network Engineering. Over the lifetime of the apprenticeship a total of eight blocks, each of two weeks duration, will be spent attending class and practical laboratories at TU Dublin.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold a Leaving Certificate with a minimum of Grade O6/H7 or better in 5 subjects in the Leaving Certificate including English or Irish and Mathematics. A Pass in Foundation Level Irish (F3) is acceptable for this course.
  • Alternatively, an applicant can hold a level of qualification which is deemed equivalent to the requirements in the LeavingCertificate.
  • Full Irish driving licence
  • Applicant must complete a colour vision test

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaison with on-site SIRO supervisors/agents and commercial team.
  • Understanding project requirements and completing all duties assigned by their Manager.
  • Shadowing senior staff members, asking questions, and assisting wherever possible.
  • Raising concerns and making suggestions for improvement where appropriate.
  • Traveling to sites, monitoring site works and carrying out site measures.
  • Review the electrical network planned upgrades.
  • Always observing and adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Participating in meetings and attending workshops and other training initiatives.
  • Checking contractor designs, analysing data and reporting on findings accordingly to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Revise and assess commercial statements.

Accounting Technician Apprentice

Reporting to Finance Manager this apprenticeship is a great opportunity to start or develop your career within an exciting and dynamic company within the Telecoms industry. Apprenticeship training provides alternating on-the-job training in conjunction with off-the-job training in Education and Training Boards and selected higher education institutions.

The Accounting Technician Apprenticeship Programme is a two-year, work-based learning education training programme and graduates will attain a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Accounting. The alternating training generally consists of one day off-the-job training/education in a local college and four days on-the-job training in the workplace during term time and is full time outside term time.

Requirements:

  • The main entry criteria are 300 CAO (or equivalent) points with a pass (O6) in Leaving Certificate English and either Leaving Certificate Mathematics or Accounting (within the last 5 years). For those who sat the Leaving Certificate in the past five years, the main entry criteria are 300 CAO (or equivalent) points with a D3 in Ordinary Level English and Maths or Accountancy.
  • Mature candidates (23 years of age or older) are eligible to apply if they meet the academic or alternative qualification requirements noted. Evidence of this will be required.
  • Registration with Accounting Technician Ireland Apprenticeship Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in month end reporting process- expense analysis and accruals and balance sheet control accounts preparation.
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Involvement in Accounts Payable.
  • Ensure a smooth procurement process for vendors through the issuing of purchase orders, seeking the businesses approval of goods/service, processing of invoices for payment all in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with business and third party vendors to ensure the transactional processes are operating effectively and that transactions posted accurately with sufficient back up.
  • Vat returns and tax reporting

  • Contribute to the finance function, including provide analysis and calculations to help support commercial decisions.

Passive Design Engineer

Role Description & Responsibilities:

The passive design engineer role will be responsible for all aspects of passive optical network design to support GPON and XGPON networking technologies. The successful candidate will work within the passive network planning and design team. Role responsibilities will cover:

  • The creation of High-Level Designs for the deployment of PON networks using the electrical Medium and Low Voltage network as a carrier infrastructure
  • Liaise closely with design and installation contractors to ensure optimal designs are achieved and implemented
  • Review and sign-off on Low Level Designs (detailed) created and submitted by installation contractors
  • Ensure that the company’s health and safety policy is incorporated in all design work
  • Implement a process of continuous improvement where learnings from current/previous deployments are implemented as improvements for future deployments
  • Manage access requests to third party network infrastructure
  • Perform desktop route analysis and verify low level designs for commercial connection requests
  • Track and record optical patching requirements at point of presence locations and issue to installation contractors
  • Undertake a limited amount of national travel for survey work, review meetings etc.

The passive design role will report to the passive design team lead.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 3rd level degree in science, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with planning, design and installation of fibre optic networks
  • Working knowledge of cable types, ducting, enclosures, fibre optic standards and characteristics, splice and test criteria
  • Experience with 3rd party installation contractors, civil works, and local authorities
  • Familiarity with optical design tools/software packages and GIS systems
  • Experience with installation of fibre optic cable and it’s termination in customer premises
  • Knowledge of current Irish Safety & Health legislation
  • Experience with PON/GPON networks is a plus
  • Experience or knowledge of Medium and Low Voltage electrical networks is a plus
  • Full drivers’ licence
